Hi-Tech Engineers Offering Hot-Dip Galvanization Services

In order to ensure that the metals have high resistance against corrosion, they are required to undergo a process called hot-dip galvanization. The iron or steel is coated with a layer of zinc. The process results in a tightly bonded zinc-iron alloy layer, which provides long-lasting high resistance against corrosion. Steel, such as carbon steel, iron and structural steel, undergoes this process, which is why they are often adaptable to various environmental conditions. Hi-Tech Engineers offer exceptional hot-dip galvanizing services in India for various customized metals, ensuring metals are durable and can withstand environmental impacts. With our years of experience, our state-of-the-art equipment and skilled staff, clients can be assured of getting top-notch services based on their preferences.

Why Hi-Tech Engineers for Galvanizing?

The process of hot-dip galvanization

Surface preparation: This is a critical stage that determines the quality of the process, it involves degreasing which is a process that involves submerging the steel into a hot alkali solution to get rid of contaminants like grease, oil or dirt, it also involves pickling which is immersing the steel into hot sulfuric acid which ambient hydrochloric acid to get rid of rust or mill scale and fluxing where the steel is immersed in zinc ammonium chloride oxide to get rid of remaining oxide and apply an extra protective layer.

Galvanization: After the surface preparation, the steel is immersed in a kettle that has a molten bath of 98% zinc. The temperature of the molten bath is kept at 830°F- 840°F. A reaction of iron in the steel and the zinc occurs, which in turn forms an intermetallic zinc-iron layer.

Finishing: After the process, the steel is inspected for quality and appearance, and it can be cooled with water or air for finishing.

The importance of hot-dip galvanization

The process ensures protection against corrosion: The best way to protect steel against corrosion is by conducting the hot-dip galvanization process, which creates a layer of zinc-iron protecting the components from environmental impacts that cause corrosion.

The process ensures durability of steel components: Steel components that undergo the hot-dip galvanization process have a guarantee to last longer because they are protected against corrosive impacts that increase the chances of damage and ineffective functionality.

FAQ's

The submersion of steel into molten baths lasts for at least a few hours, but the entire process from surface preparation to finishing takes at least 3 days.

It’s okay to paint a galvanized protect, it adds extra protection against corrosion.

Yes, we are able to handle various steel components, and in bulk as well, our in-house facility has the capacity to handle them.

It is possible to conduct a welding process on a galvanized product though it requires precaution to manage the toxic zinc frames.

This can be done by ensuring that the steel products undergo a high-quality hot-dip galvanizing process and maintaining regular cleaning of the surface.
